THIS ABILITY, NOT DISABILITY

As part of their mission of developing technology for all users, the Android OS has been a consistent champion of innovative accessibility features within their device ecosystem.

One of Android’s past influencer partners, Aaron Rose Philip, was honored in 2023 with a Stonewall Community Foundation Vision Award. As a trans person of color with cerebral palsy, Aaron Rose’s groundbreaking work within the fashion industry sent an inspiring message to all those like her who aspire to do great things and refuse to let preconceived social expectations limit their horizons.

Looking back at Aaron Rose’s formative entries into social media and technology, we discovered an old blog post she’d published in 2013 encouraging audiences to set aside their biases notions of what individuals with disabilities are achieve. It was a message that she then proved out with her own life. We approached Aaron Rose with the idea of developing a content piece that used her own words from a decade ago as the inspiring VO while we filmed her actual day of preparations before heading to the 2023 Vision Awards ceremony.

This is another content piece I had a chance to direct along with a very small but talented crew.
